At NordLink, we guide our students every step of the way from Cambodia to Finland
1. Preparation in Cambodia
Students begin by joining our in-house preparatory program in Phnom Penh, where they receive intensive Finnish language instruction, cultural orientation, and support in understanding the Finnish education system.
2. Visa and Travel to Finland
Once ready, students travel to Finland with a short-term visa (usually under the “other ground” category, not a student visa). This allows them to enter the country legally while applying to schools.
3. Application to Schools
With our support, students apply to a wide range of Finnish vocational institutions or universities via the national joint application system in each spring. Students are free to choose their preferred fields of study and target schools.
4. YKI Test and Entrance Exams
During their stay in Finland, students take the YKI test. Those achieving higher basic level A
2.2 or intermediate (B1-B2), as required by their target program, and passing entrance
exams qualify for admission to tuition-free Finnish institutions.
5. Admission and Student Visa
Once accepted into a degree program, students apply for and receive a student residence permit, allowing them to live and study in Finland for the duration of their program.
Student Testimonials
Although NordLink Education as a school is new, our founders Sandra and Mikko have been helping Asian youth learn Finnish language and integrate into Finnish society for a long time. Listen to Sandra’s students’ testimonials here.
